In 2025, Canadian farmers returned a record 2.5 million kg of pesticide and fertilizer containers under 23 L for recycling. That's a 13% increase from last year and the biggest collection total ever achieved through the program.
Thanks to strong participation across the country, more than 61 million kg of agricultural plastic containers have now been kept out of the waste stream since the program began.
Once collected, these containers are recycled into new materials such as tile drainage pipes and other ag products. Every rinsed and returned container makes a difference. This achievement reflects the commitment of farmers and partners across Canada, and weβre grateful to work alongside them to keep agricultural plastics out of the environment.
