MOCA's South Stairwell Sound Series returns with a new work by music legend Beverly Glenn-Copeland.

Titled "Light of the Heavens," the piece is a recently recovered song from Glenn-Copeland's archives, something he calls “a gift from my past.” Created in the mid eighties, the song echoes a quieter chapter of his life on the Canadian Shield. It's shimmering, weightless, and carried by his tender voice, as he sings “by the guiding stars, the cosmic veil, we are ever coming home to the light of the heavens.”

A visionary composer, trans elder, and classically trained musician, his five-decade career continually evolves, spanning folk, electronic, and spiritual music. This project comes just ahead of the reissue of his landmark1986 album “Keyboard Fantasies,” which celebrates its 40th anniversary this fall.

MOCA's Fall 2026 season opens in less than ONE MONTH!

This fall, MOCA is excited to present "Bones," a major solo presentation by acclaimed artist Bharti Kher.

Kher is known for her approach to assemblage, where she builds her work by breaking apart and reconstituting found materials and castings, a process she describes as a way to "know them better."

"Bones" gathers Kher's surreal female figures, some draped in saris, others entwined with spiraling forms. She's described these beings as “mythical urban goddesses” who are, “part truth, and part fiction, part me, and part you.” Nearby, geometric works in wood, stone, and concrete stand alongside a new large-scale painting built from thousands of hand-applied bindis.

Born in London and based in New Delhi since 1993, Kher’s work arrives at MOCA following two milestone UK exhibitions: "Alchemies," a major solo show of sculpture staged across Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and a current display at the V&A in London, where her work stands in dialogue with the museum's collection of classical sculpture.
