It's always wonderful to connect outside of the office! The P4P team had an awesome time last week, stepping away from our desks and putting our knowledge to the test at the Quiz Room. As Disability Pride Month comes to an end, we’re reminded to keep this momentum going year-round, uplifting voices and sharing stories of people and families with lived experience.

Disability pride is about more than celebration; it’s about envisioning and claiming a safe, happy, and meaningful life and future of your own choosing. Just as we share in the Safe & Secure guide, every step forward—big or small—matters in building a good life. As we wrap up July, we share a glimpse into the Beesley family's journey in building a good life for their son, Mitchell.

Celebrating Disability Pride Month means honouring the stories of individuals who, like Tiffany Dawe, are crafting lives defined by connection, autonomy, and belonging.

If you stopped by Tiffany's apartment, chances are you'd be welcome inside. She values having friends over, sharing meals, and spending time with the people who matter most to her. It's the kind of life many people hope for — a place to call home, meaningful friendships, and the independence to make everyday choices.

For Tiffany, building that life has been a journey shaped by family, community, and one powerful vision, showing us what's possible when we focus on what makes life truly meaningful.

This Disability Pride Month, we celebrate his story, which reminds us that when people are given the opportunity to be exactly who they are, they don’t just play a role; they stand exactly where they belong.

This Disability Pride Month, we're highlighting stories of authentic inclusion and advocacy. Our first spotlight is on Michael Jacques—author, public speaker, and advocate who continues to touch lives and change mindsets.

Michael will tell you that he has an intellectual disability and autism, but he hasn’t let anything hold him back. From authoring his own books using speech-to-text technology to delivering hundreds of presentations, Michael reminds us all to see the potential in everyone, so we can build a world where everyone truly belongs.
