I can’t believe my pals TamTam and Augustus travelled all the way from TO to MTL to see my set 🥹 AND brought a crew out with them too! Seriously, the love and support I feel from so many of you blow me away and keep me going when I feel like I can’t 💜 I love y’all!

Initially we were supposed to get a van but ended up getting this gas guzzling monster instead lol. Ngl, driving through the wee hours of the morning after playing a show and being up for 24 hours in this thing was actually a viiibe 😆🔥 but also don’t recommend 🤣

La fin! I had the best time ever last week and I honestly can’t wait to do it again. Montreal, holla at ya girl 🫶🏽

Storytime!

The last time I was in Montreal was 2019, opening for MOON VS SUN on their tour.
That night remains one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on stage. MTL made me feel so loved, so seen, so respected as an up-and-coming indie artist (and they weren’t even there to see me!)

It was just me and my homie Scott McCannell on guitar, a 30-minute set, and a room full of fans who’d come out to hear their heroes Raine and Chantal Krev do their thing. The pressure was on lol.

I remember how the crowd hung on to my every note and word. When my last song ended, you could hear a pin drop, and then the entire venue (Théâtre Beanfield) erupted, leapt to their feet, and gave us the warmest reception I’ve ever felt.

I stood on that stage and bawled my eyes out 😭. Because it showed me that music is a bridge, and live music is transformative. It affirmed so much and quieted so many voices of doubt I’d had up to that point. It helped me believe and stay the course. In the words of , she told me to “keep going.” I will never forget that.

Now, 7 years later, I’m back in Montreal, and for the first time, I get to play a live set with my band, for Soul of the City FEST Soul de la Ville. I am beyond excited to see everyone and take in the vibe of a city I love so dearly.
