The poster “Hate Corrodes” has been selected for the Graphis Best100 Exhibition at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco (June 26 – July 25, 2026). The 100 pieces were chosen from all 2025 Graphis Awards.

My Thinking Behind the Poster:

Hatred is corrosive. The exponential rise in hate crimes against minorities (be they racial, religious or gender diverse) worldwide is indicative of a deeper malaise which is rearing its ugly head yet again, spurred on by the relentless and frenzied expressions of outrage generated by the algorithms of social media. Hate stated Maya Angelou “has caused a lot of problems in the world but has not solved one yet.” The countervailing forces of love and empathy must prevail if we are to successfully navigate the rough seas humankind will undoubtedly face in the coming years. Booker T. Washington set the bar high when he wrote “I will permit no man to narrow and degrade my soul by making me hate him.”
The recent convulsions taking place in the Middle East brought to mind the corrosive effect of rust on metal. Rust has the capability to degrade what on the surface seems impenetrable — so too is hatred’s effect on the human heart.
