Still can't believe this is even possible.
Opening 's show was one of the hardest moments for me - not because the piece was difficult to play, but because the moment you hit that first note, everyone knows, understands, and anticipates the feeling that's about to wash over them. AR described it as a "single teardrop falling on a flower petal" when he and were in the studio back in 1995. One must feel those emotions in advance before taking the first breath while also actively calming the nervous system in front of 3500 people. Because what's the first thing that gets affected when you are nervous? Your breath! And that's the one thing I needed to rely on when opening the show with this bansuri.
