That’s a wrap on another wonderful season of Summer Day Camp! ☀️🌿

From exploring Toronto’s ravines and green spaces to learning new skills, getting dirty, playing games, and making new friends, campers packed a lot into their days outside. As we wrap up the season, we’re sharing a few reflections from campers and families about their summer with Pine.

To every camper, family, mentor, and community member who made this season so special, thank you for another summer of learning, laughter, and connection in nature. 💚

Things we learned at Pine Summer Day Camp: squirrels accidentally plant trees, cattails can be a survival snack, black spruce can be used to make gum and torches, and movie bald eagles might not sound the way you think they do. 🌿

And that’s just a few! Nature journaling gives campers a chance to slow down, look closely, and capture some of the questions and discoveries that spark their curiosity along the way. ✏️

There’s a special kind of learning that happens when kids get curious, muddy, and completely immersed. 🌱🐛

At Pine, kids learn through hands-on exploration outdoors, whether they’re following a tiny creature across the forest floor, building something with their hands, or asking questions about what they discover along the way.

That time in nature helps build curiosity, confidence, resilience, connection, and a love of learning.

✨ Big news ✨ This fall, Pine is opening a new Outdoor School location at Wilket Creek Park, conveniently located near Sunnybrook Park Station on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT!

We're starting with two weekly Coyote Pup (ages 4-6) programs:
🍂 Mondays | 1-4 p.m.
🍂 Tuesdays | 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Children will spend one day each week (Oct-Jun) immersed in hands-on, place-based learning alongside caring mentors, building confidence, meaningful friendships, a love of learning, and a lasting connection to nature.

P.S. Looking for a different schedule or location? We also offer Outdoor School programs in East and West Toronto, including after-school, weekend, and monthly programs designed to fit a variety of ages, interests, and family schedules!

If you asked our campers about their favourite part of the week, you'd probably get a different answer every time!

The crafts. The bugs. The games. The new friends. That cool thing they spotted in the woods.

That's the best part about camp. There isn't just one favourite. 🌲✨

Summer Day Camp is in full swing, and it's been an incredible few weeks so far! 🌿☀️

From the east end to the west end of Toronto, our campers are fully immersed in the magic of summer. They're trading screens for streams, exploring the forests around them, spotting wildlife, creating nature-inspired crafts, playing endless games, sharing stories, and making new friends along the way.

We've already had some incredible bird sightings... can you spot one in our photos? 👀🐦

With plenty more adventures still to come, we can't wait to see what the rest of the summer brings!

We're feeling incredibly grateful after receiving so many beautiful thank you cards from students at Thorncliffe Park Public School, filled with memories from an amazing year of shared discovery and outdoor learning. 💚

From playing in the snow and learning about plants to spotting a raccoon, listening to bird calls, and learning to make fire with cedar, these reflections are a wonderful reminder that outdoor experiences, shared with caring mentors and classmates, stay with children long after they leave the parks.

A big thank you to the students and staff at Thorncliffe Park P.S. for an incredible year of learning, curiosity, and connection. We can't wait for more adventures together this fall! 🌿
