Creative Industries student Delaney Blake ( ) completed a summer internship as a Live Entertainment & Venue Marketing Intern at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE)!
Through the experience, Delaney worked on live entertainment and venue marketing initiatives while building industry connections and gaining hands-on experience in the field.
Her advice to incoming CRI students?
“Put yourself out there, whether that be joining student clubs like the or coffee chatting early on with a variety of industry people.”

What does it really mean to protect creative work in today’s media landscape?
Students explored exactly that during “What is Copyright?” with Professor Salman Rana, an engaging session focused on intellectual property, ownership, and the realities of working across film, music, digital media, branding, and beyond.
At Creative Industries, students gain access to industry professionals and conversations that bridge creativity with the business side of entertainment and media, preparing them for careers across the evolving creative economy.

Creative Industries student .wooding reflected on her Live Promoter Internship at at MRG Live last summer!
Based in Vancouver, Olivia supported artist booking and event operations while gaining hands-on experience in the live music and entertainment industry. Following her internship, she continued at MRG Live as a Live Promoter Assistant through the end of 2025.
Her advice to incoming students? “Take every opportunity to network, build relationships, and show that you are eager to learn.”

Last summer, Creative Industries student Avery Hickman completed a unique multi-disciplinary internship at Anthem Entertainment!
Through Anthem’s rotating internship program, Avery gained hands-on experience across multiple departments while building industry connections and learning more about the Canadian music business.
Her advice to incoming students? “Take advantage of networking opportunities, especially in music. Go to industry nights, even if it feels scary.”

Creative Industries student Karolina Zabielski attended the Adobe Creative Retreat in Toronto last month!
Held on March 12, the event brought together industry professionals and creatives for a full day of discussions, hands-on sessions, and networking with .
Her advice to incoming students? “Get your assignments done, but really focus on talking to everyone you can, even your profs. That’s how I got to do this really cool thing!!!”
