Outer Edge Crafts

I finished the quilt! I am so proud of how it turned out and I hope my son feels connected to home while he is away at University. Love you M!

I finished the quilt but haven’t recorded the reveal yet so here is a 🐝 themed boxy pouch I made today.

I was hoping that the batting I bought would be puffy to show the quilting on the fabric but I need to either double up or find a new batting.

Anyone out there have any recommendations?

Starting the quilting process with some drawn lines to guide me.
I will be using my machine for this as my hand quilting calluses are long gone and I am in a time crunch to complete this project.
I think I’m going to get it done in time!

A lot of sewing happened yesterday and here is most of the
I still need to add the top and the bottom sections which will just be plain white. I think it’s looking really great and I am so happy that it looks like it will be getting done before move in day!

I have ordered the backing fabric which I am super excited about. I’ll post that when it arrives.

Block # 3.

I am done sewing 8 out of 16 of these blocks that I will need. It’s turning out really cute!

I also found the perfect backing fabric for the quilt and I will be ordering it once I figure out how much I need.

I am very excited that this quilt is getting done!

Assembly of block 3 is underway.

13 blocks of block # 2 complete!
Block # 3 is the last to go. I have already started cutting the pieces and I will hopefully start sewing tomorrow at the latest.

I promise I’m working on it!
On a roll today. Cut all the pieces for block #2 and now they are being assembled.

Block 1 is done. All 20 pieces I needed for the quilt are complete. Now to start the process all over again for block 2 and then again for block 3 the final block.

Proud that I got this far this early. Struggling with my perfectionism issues and that doesn’t help with motivation to get started if it won’t be done perfectly.

I really do want to get this done for my kid but the other problems are there holding onto me.

Going to take a minute to get rid of my headache and see if I am ready to cut once it’s gone.

Super special part was that I showed the finished block to my kid and he loves it so far. ❤️
