Lev Gleason

Lev Gleason Studios and Adam Beach stopped by Western Libraries to check out their collection of WECA-era Canadian comics from the 1940s for the upcoming documentary ‘Becoming Canuck: The Captain Canuck Story!’

Dubbed “The Golden Age of Canadian Comics,” this was the first time comics made in Canada were available to Canadians en-mass. We got to check out comics featuring Canadian characters such as Nelvana of the North, Freelance and more.

Thank you to comic historian David Seston and librarian Deborah Meert-Williston for hosting us!

Becoming Canuck - The Captain Canuck Story trailer featuring Adam Beach is out now! Watch it on our website levgleason.com now.
