The resulting amount less the pensions and the interest earnings in real terms, is the amount of money required for savings, which is predicted to cover the same number of days upon which the income was determined. The premise is to maintain the type of lifestyle and standard of living accustomed during the preretirement years. The implication of this premise also means that to not get use to a lifestyle or standard of living that cannot be maintained.
