One of the simplest changes I’ve made to my breakfast? Adding more protein. 🥣

I used to eat breakfast and feel hungry again not long after. Since making protein a bigger part of my morning meal, I’ve noticed I feel more satisfied, fuller for longer, and more steady throughout the morning.

And no, that doesn’t mean you need a 50g protein breakfast or a giant protein shake. 😂

To me, it’s about finding easy ways to add protein to the foods you already enjoy for example tofu, soy milk, beans, protein bread, vegan yogurt, protein powder… whatever works for you!

A balanced breakfast > a “perfect” breakfast. 🫶

What’s your go-to protein at breakfast? 👇

If your diet looks like this 🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏 all week…

…but then the weekend looks more like 🍟🍔🍕🍰 because you feel like you’ve been “so good” and now you just want to eat EVERYTHING…

you might not need another diet. You might need more balance. 🥝🥪🥑🫔

Eating well doesn’t have to mean eating perfectly Monday–Friday and then feeling completely out of control on the weekend.

You can have the burger AND the salad.
The pizza AND the veggies.
The dessert AND the balanced meal.
The fun foods AND the nourishing foods.

The goal isn’t to eat “clean” all week so you can finally let loose on the weekend.

It’s learning how to build a way of eating that actually has room for both. 🌱

Because healthy eating should fit into your life — not take over your life.

Save this as your reminder that balance > restriction. 🤍

“i can’t lose weight because of my hormones.”

Okay… but can you name 5 hormones off the top of your head and tell me what they actually do? 👀

Hormones are absolutely involved in hunger, fullness, metabolism, blood sugar, stress and energy balance — but “my hormones are making me fat” is a pretty broad statement.

Here are 5 hormones to know:

🧠 Insulin — helps regulate blood sugar and allows glucose to move from your blood into your cells to be used or stored for energy.

🥑 Leptin — helps signal fullness and plays a role in regulating energy balance and body weight.

🍽️ Ghrelin — stimulates hunger and is often referred to as the “hunger hormone.”

😮‍💨 Cortisol — helps your body respond to stress and is involved in blood sugar regulation, metabolism and immune function.

🦋 Thyroid hormones — help regulate your metabolic rate, energy production and how your body uses energy.

And that’s just FIVE.

So yes, hormones matter. A lot.

But your hormones aren’t some mysterious explanation for every change in your weight. Your body is incredibly complex, and weight is influenced by energy intake, energy expenditure, appetite, sleep, stress, medications, genetics, environment, activity and yes — hormones, too.

Instead of blaming “hormones” as a blanket explanation, let’s actually understand how the body works. 🌱

The tree doesn’t panic when its leaves begin to fall. 🍂

It doesn’t try to hold onto what’s already changing. It simply lets the season move through it.

I think there’s something beautiful about that.

Seasons come and seasons change. Things grow, things bloom, things come to an end, and eventually, new things begin again.

Maybe nature is a reminder that we don’t have to hold onto every season of our lives either. We can appreciate where we’ve been, let go of what’s no longer meant to stay, and trust what’s coming next.

So, happy September. 🤎

I’m slowly learning to let go of summer, embrace the change, and go with the flow a little more.

Here’s to a new season, new growth, and whatever is waiting to take root. 🌱🍂

Eating mostly plant-based is what feels good to me 🌱 And honestly, I think more people could benefit from simply adding more plant-based foods into their everyday lives.

For me, it’s not about being perfect or following a strict label. It’s about eating in a way that aligns with my values and makes me feel good — physically and mentally.

🌱 Health: Plant foods can be packed with fibre, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other nutrients that support our overall health.

🌎 Environment: Eating more plants and less animal products can be one way to reduce our environmental impact.

🐄 Ethics: For me personally, choosing more plant-based foods also reflects my feelings around animal welfare.

🥕 Mostly whole foods: I try to build the majority of my meals around foods like vegetables, fruits, beans, lentils, whole grains, nuts, seeds and other minimally processed foods.

But that doesn’t mean I never eat processed vegan foods! I love things like Beyond Meat, vegan cheese and other plant-based alternatives. There’s room for convenience, enjoyment and balance too.

And if you’re not vegan or don’t want to be, that’s completely okay. Maybe you still eat eggs or dairy but want to start incorporating more plant-based meals into your week. That counts too.

You don’t have to go from eating zero plants to being 100% vegan overnight.

Think about it this way: 100 people eating 50% more plant-based is still a whole lot of plants being added to the world compared to one person trying to eat a “perfect” vegan diet. 🌱

It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

Start with one meal. One swap. One extra serving of vegetables. One more plant-based protein.

Small changes really do add up. 💚
