❤️You can’t rewrite the past… but you can control what’s next 👍
🩸This is a red top tube. It has no additives, so the blood needs to clot naturally. After clotting, we centrifuge it to separate the serum. Red tops are commonly used for drug levels, serology, and blood bank testing. Always allow proper clotting time for accurate results🩸
🩸Light blue = clotting tests. Has to be filled exactly.
🩸Royal blue = testing for metals like lead. No contamination.
🩸Gold = chemistry panel. Liver, kidney, cholesterol.
🩸Purple = CBC. Counts your red + white blood cells.
🩸Gray = glucose. Keeps sugar from breaking down.
🩸CORRECT ORDER OF DRAW🩸
1. Blood Culture/SPS (bottle)
2. Light Blue - Sodium Citrate (Coagulation)
3. Red - Plain Serum
4. Gold - SST (Serum Separator
Tube
5. Green - Heparin (Lithium or
