After moving to Canada from Algeria at age 11, Hadj Benseddik saw his postsecondary journey interrupted by the loss of his father. Years of uncertainty followed, but he never gave up on finding his path. He is now entering his final year of Seneca’s Bachelor of Engineering (Software Engineering) degree program.

🚀 Love rockets? How about joining a club and actually building one?
That's what Seneca student Saiprasad Dhodi thought when he launched Astra Labs, a student-run club for aspiring rocketeers and aerospace enthusiasts.
Over the past year, 20+ students from programs across Seneca came together to design and build Pioneer — a 2.5-metre-tall, 12.6 kg model rocket capable of reaching approximately 2.8 km at the speed of sound.
The team took Pioneer to Launch Canada 2026 and, despite weather cancelling their launch, they’re already back to work preparing for Launch Canada 2027.

Another long weekend is just around the corner. 🍂 🌤️
To mark the Labour Day long weekend, Seneca Polytechnic will be closed from the end of business day on Friday, Sept. 4, to the reopening on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
As part of the closure, the following resources will not be available from Saturday, Sept. 5 to Monday, Sept. 7:

Athletics & Recreation facilities
In-person and virtual Seneca Libraries services
In-person support at The Service Hub

Congratulations to the first graduating class of the Youth Community Academy! 🎓
At a graduation ceremony held at our Newnham Campus, 40 Toronto high school students were recognized for successfully completing this new experiential learning program. Over the past eight weeks, the students explored careers in policing and firefighting while building valuable leadership and teamwork skills.
To our new graduates, we are of all you achieved this summer. Best of luck in the upcoming school year and we look forward to seeing all that you accomplish next.
