💚Today is World Gratitude Day, and at Kinvia, we are deeply grateful for you.

Over the past year, your support helped communities build stronger, more food-secure futures rooted in local knowledge, leadership, and resilience.

Together, Kinvia worked alongside 125 communities across five countries, reaching more than 234,000 people. This included providing more than 5 million meals and snacks, supporting food security and livelihoods, expanding educational opportunities, and advancing Indigenous food and cultural sovereignty.

These numbers tell part of the story. Behind them are children learning, families strengthening their food systems, young people building new skills, and communities shaping solutions for the future.

🏘️Like many women in her community, Florence worked hard to support her family and keep her daughter Gloria in school.

But limited income made it difficult to keep up with school fees and other everyday expenses. Too often, families are forced to make impossible choices when resources are stretched too thin.

By participating in programs supported by Kinvia, Florence strengthened her small business, received business training, and new inventory. She was able to grow her retail shop and increase her daily income. Today, Florence is able to pay Gloria's school fees.

🌎Gloria is already looking ahead to her future:

🏅A meaningful recognition in Bolivia.

Kinvia has been recognized by Bolivia’s Chamber of Deputies for our contribution to the development of the country and our ongoing commitment to children, families, and communities.

The recognition highlights Kinvia’s work in education, nutrition, food security, children’s rights, and family strengthening, as well as our commitment to strengthening local capacities, community participation, and sustainable solutions.

This recognition belongs to the many people and communities who make this work possible — including our partners, colleagues, and supporters who have stood alongside communities in Bolivia over the years.

We’re deeply grateful for this recognition and proud to continue working alongside communities and partners Sociedad San José, IPTK - Instituto Politécnico Tomás Katari, in Bolivia toward a future where children, families, and communities can thrive.

🎉 Celebrating 50 years of community-led work.

On September 2, our partner IPTK - Instituto Politécnico Tomás Katari celebrated 50 years of institutional life — five decades of working alongside Indigenous Peoples and communities across Bolivia.

The anniversary was marked by two ceremonies, where national, regional, and municipal authorities recognized IPTK’s longstanding contribution to education, food systems, and leadership.

For Kinvia, the celebration was also a special moment to honour 22 years of partnership with IPTK. Over more than two decades, we’ve had the privilege of working together to support communities as they strengthen their own pathways toward greater food security, opportunity, and well-being.

Congratulations to the entire IPTK team on 50 years of meaningful work. We’re grateful for all that we’ve accomplished together — and look forward to the work still ahead on the path we share. 💚

🪴At Waywayseecappo First Nation, land-based education began with a single moment: a student bringing a goose to school. Today, the school's land-based education program includes gardening in the greenhouse, caring for a growing cattle herd, processing wild game, ice fishing, and more! All led by students, alongside teachers, mentors, and Elders.

Land-based learning does far more than teach practical agricultural and outdoor skills. It creates opportunities for intergenerational connection—sharing knowledge, reconnecting with the land, and supporting language revitalization.

Former students are now returning as mentors, passing down their knowledge to the next generation and reinforcing cultural sovereignty through local food systems.🍠

🎒Education doesn't stop when the school day ends. Some of the most meaningful lessons are shared through growing food, preparing meals, caring for the land, and learning from those who came before us.

When knowledge is shared across generations, children and youth have opportunities to learn skills that can stay with them—and help strengthen the food systems their communities rely on.
