Colchester CARMA (formerly Wayward Cats), was founded with the goal of aiding the expanding cat population in Colchester County, Nova Scotia. Through the use of a trap, neuter & return project, we are attempting to limit the ever growing cat population. Our group is focused on aiding feral colonies and those who have been feeding strays. Unowned cats, or abandoned cats, are given the ability to reproduce at an astounding rate. CARMA has an overall goal to reduce the population and promote healthier lives in those who are not thought about. CARMA is an education based group promoting the needs of spaying & neutering cats, and what a TNR program means to the community. We are a volunteer based group with the intent to bring about a change to the way felines are viewed in Colchester County.

🐾 KITTEN SEASON IS NO LONGER JUST A SPRING THING! 🐾
For those of us involved in rescue, we’re seeing kittens needing help well beyond the traditional spring kitten season. As the months go by, the number of cats and kittens needing food, care, fostering, and medical attention continues to grow. 💔🐱
Our food supplies are being used up quickly, and we need your help to keep hungry little bellies full! 🥹❤️
📢 In the last week, we have had one cat in our care give birth to 5 kittens, and we rescued another cat with 4 kittens! They are all still nursing off mom, but in no time they will need canned food! We are asking for donations of kitten food to help us care for these kittens. 🍽️
Every bag, can, or case makes a difference. Even a small donation can help provide a meal for a kitten who desperately needs it. 🐾
If you’re able to donate, please consider picking up an extra bag or case of food for our rescue the next time you’re shopping. These can be dropped off at Truro Vet on Arthur Street in Truro.
