Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

This day is a time to honor the survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities, and to remember those who never returned home.

WorkBC Vernon is proud to work alongside the Syilx (Okanagan) and Secwepemc (Shuswap) peoples, including the Okanagan Indian Band and Splatsin First Nation.

We recognize that we operate on the traditional, unceded, and ancestral territories of both the Syilx and Secwepemc peoples.

This day offers a chance for meaningful reflection on the tragic legacy of residential schools and to commit to the ongoing process of reconciliation. It is a time to acknowledge the profound resilience and enduring culture of Indigenous Peoples.

Reminder, our location is closed today for the statutory holiday. WorkBC Centre Vernon will reopen on Thursday, October 1st at 9 AM.

💼 Everyone has strengths. WorkBC’s Customized Employment helps put them to work.

Through Customized Employment services, Benjamin discovered his strengths and was connected with an employer who tailored a role to his abilities. The result was a job he enjoys that matches his strengths and needs.
