We will be at the Marina for 9:30 am. Dress for the weather and bring out the kids, dads and grandpas, grandmas and moms. There will be free draws and free BBQ for attendees at 3:00 pm sponsored by Save On Foods and Royal Lepage Rosling Realty."

BC Family Fishing Weekend is happening this Saturday and Sunday. Canadian residents can go fishing in salt or fresh water, no licence required! A few exceptions apply, such as fishing Classiifed Waters or for Conservation Stamp species. See the full details at bcfamilyfishingweekend.com.
Join in the fun at one of the many events happening around the province. Many events have free rod and tackle loan and fishing for kids and/or families, and experienced anglers on hand to show you the ropes. It really is the perfect opportunity to get the family hooked on fishing!

Event Spotlight: Family Fishing Day at Williamson Lake in Revelstoke. Hosted by the Revelstoke Rod and Gun Club, this is a free community event taking place this Saturday from 10am - 4pm, with fishing instruction (no gear required), awards for first fish and largest fish caught, and burgers available by donation. See you at the lake!

On June 5th, the Nechako White Sturgeon Recovery Initative organized the largest yet Juvenile Sturgeon Release Event in Vanderhoof. It was fantastic to see nearly 950 students, plus educators, volunteers, community folks, and honoured Seniors and Elders coming together to celebrate the importance of sturgeon and salmon to the community and local ecosystems. A huge thank you goes out to everyone that helped make this day a huge success!
