Everyone loves to save money. BCause saves you money. Therefore by the transitive properties of capitalism, BCause is your best option. Itâs just how it works.
Some days being a small business owner is hard. The imposter syndrome kicks up, the inbox is overflowing, there is a new fire to be put out and you still have to post on social media, all while having a baby that may or may not have thrown up on you twice before you finished your coffee.
It sometimes feels if youâre not in back to back meetings or orders arenât flowing in at their regular pace or youâre not executing the ânext best thingâ youâve done something wrong and are circling the drain. The ebb and flow of business takes its toll. Some days youâre just feeling feelings.
Some fancy influencer might whip up a pithy optimistic one liner to help motivate, but most business owners donât need motivation sometimes we just need to take a brief pause to wallow.
If youâre having âa dayâ letâs pause together and just eat some berries. Everything feels better after some berries.
Then we will regroup.

Super easy Strawberry Rhubarb Oat Bars. Takes minutes to whip together and were devoured in a blink by the whole family.
Recipe:
Compote:
3 cups of your favourite fruit. I used a mix of chopped rhubarb and strawberries
1/2 cup of sugar (can use less if you have sweeter fruit or just want it less sweet)
1 tsp vanilla
Zest and juice of a lemon.
1 TBSP Cornstarch to thicken
Combine all ingredients in a pot and simmer or low until all fruits are tender and it resembles a jam consistency. Make sure to stir constantly for the first few minutes to prevent lumps by the cornstarch. Set aside.
Crust/Topping
1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 cup quick oats
1 cup brown sugar
Pinch of salt
3/4 tsp baking powder
1 cup butter (softened)
Combine all ingredients in a bowl until the butter is worked through and mixture is wet-sand like. Divide in half and press half into a parchment lined 8x8 pan.
Bake at 350F for 10 mins. Remove and add the compote. Crumble the remaining topping over the compote and bake for 30-35 mins (keep an eye on it)
Let cool, enjoy!!!!
