We had such a wonderful time taking part in BC Culture Days | Fête de la culture! 🎺🎭🎶

In partnership with Victoria Conservatory of Music and Pacific Opera Victoria, we welcomed music lovers of all ages to the Royal Theatre & McPherson Playhouse for a free afternoon of discovery. Guests got a behind-the-scenes look at a working rehearsal, tried their hand at a variety of instruments, explored an opera touch table, met our musicians and Maestro, and enjoyed performances by students from the VCM.

A huge thank you to the Royal Theatre for hosting us, and to everyone who came out to join in the fun. There’s no better way to start the season than with a lobby full of curious, excited new faces. ❤️

Land, Language & Songs invites you to experience downtown Victoria through music, language, and place.

On Saturday, September 12, follow a free guided walking route from Songhees Point to Beacon Hill Park, connecting the Signs of lək̓ʷəŋən and featuring songs performed in Indigenous languages and languages brought to Canada by newcomers.

Led by Songhees Knowledge Keeper Yuxwelupton Qwal’ qaxala (Bradley Dick), the afternoon brings together Pacific Opera Victoria artists and community collaborators from the Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria and Victoria Native Friendship Centre for music, storytelling, and shared discovery.

Pacific Opera Victoria chorus member and administrative staff member Nadia Lurie is heading to the UK to pursue her Master of Music in Voice Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music, and you can help her get there!

Join Nadia on Saturday, August 29 at 2:30 pm at the Baumann Centre for a special fundraising recital, with Kimberley-Ann Bartczak at the piano. Enjoy an afternoon of song, followed by tea and a few treats, while supporting Nadia as she takes this exciting next step in her musical journey.

The recital takes place at the Baumann Centre, 925 Balmoral Road. Tickets are $35, and you can RSVP and purchase tickets by contacting Nadia at [email protected]

FringeKids joins forces with Kaleidoscope Theatre to Fringe up their indoor and outdoor spaces.

FringeKids runs the weekend before The Fringe starts this year, on August 22 and 23 from 10am-1pm
