I was 16 years old. Cable was our social media, cassettes were being pirated on dual tape recorders and played on walkman’s, and of course rewinded with a pencil to save battery.

All of us, the outcasts, were either metalheads or hip-hop fans, there wasn’t anything in the middle. Despite our differences we hung out together, often sharing a bottle of vodka on the sidewalk.

Until Judgement Night came out – a movie that we all watched BECAUSE of its soundtrack.

33 years later I still can’t believe what happened in Sofia… the fact that I was presented with the opportunity to take this photo – once in a lifetime.

Raw material.

I could photoshop it, edit the background and make it perfect. But back in the day what you saw was what you got, there were no filters and that’s how we live to this day.

My tribute to a collaboration that has literally made an entire generation of fans come together, today stronger than ever.

It was an honour.
