Well… the project has officially rolled into a new month. 😅

While we’ve resumed regular operations, the work continues quietly behind the scenes. Painting is now underway, and this week we’ll be focusing on completing the plumbing rough-in and getting the painting wrapped up.

If all goes to plan, we’ll also have the closet door trim, sauna trim, and sauna benches completed by the end of the week. The finishing work always seems to take longer than expected, but that’s often the case when you’re trying to get every detail right.

We’re keeping our sights set on an end-of-August completion for the new Hot + Cold experience. Thanks for your patience - we’re excited to share the finished space with everyone soon!

As we wind down the major phase of our renovation, our focus shifts to getting everything ready for reopening.

With all three filtration systems refreshed, it’s the perfect opportunity to replace the Epsom salt in our float tanks and give everything a fresh start. The upgraded systems are performing like new again, providing the reliable, industry-leading sanitation technology our wonderful float community has come to expect.

Sauna transformation day! 🌲

Today, our beautiful clear Western Red Cedar went up, expertly installed by Adam Stel and company. The sauna has been completely transformed, and we couldn’t be happier with how it’s coming together.

Unfortunately, we’re just about out of time before reopening. Tomorrow’s mission is to get Tank 3 finished and running… 🤞 then it’s on to a massive cleanup in preparation for reopening on Sunday! 🧹

While our float and massage services resume this weekend, the grand opening of our new Hot + Cold room will follow later in August. We’re putting the finishing touches on it and want to make sure it’s perfect before opening the doors. Stay tuned for an official date!

Surprise… surprise. 😅

An unfortunate turn of events has derailed a few of our renovation plans today. A stuck flow switch meant cutting into the plumbing, so it’s time for another unexpected repair. That’s the reality of tackling a renovation while upgrading systems behind the scenes!

The good news? Tomorrow the sauna gets a major facelift as the cedar paneling starts going up. 🌲 We can’t wait to see it finally come to life.

Getting all that wonderful insulation in the walls today was a real treat! 😩 Next step - foil and strapping for the cedar. Had a slight issue with retrofitting tank 3 today - may need to order some emergency supplies 🚨 All in all … things have gone pretty well this month. Maybe a little ambitious to get it done by August 1 - but that’s typically how we roll here at Float House 😜

Tank 2 is polished and its filtration system has been fully updated! ✔️

In the new Hot + Cold room, the drywall is taped and the first coat of mud is complete.

Unfortunately, the room won’t be ready for August 1 - but we expect to be about 90% finished when Float House Westshore reopens. We’re getting close, and we can’t wait to share the finished space with you!

The new sauna window brings in a little more light and will be a beautiful accent once everything is finished. Our trademark RGB coves are also in place and will illuminate both the room and sauna with rich, relaxing colour.

Things are moving along, but our August 1 launch may be slightly delayed. Float and massage appointments will resume August 2, with the new hot+cold experience opening shortly after.

1 of 3 filter systems updated - all new UV bulbs, ozone generators and a bunch of other components. Should be solid for years to come! Epoxy floors complete - looking ✨! Tomorrow our drywall continues … by end of week things will be looking great 👍

First coat of our new epoxy floors went down today! 🙌

The topcoat goes on tomorrow, and they’ll be ready for foot traffic by Wednesday.

We love these floors! They’re incredibly durable, easy to maintain, and have a beautiful concrete inspired finish that fits our aesthetic perfectly. One more big step closer to reopening!
