Confidence grows with experience! 🚌
BC Transit was proud to join the Cowichan Valley Regional District School District Vision Team’s Traffic Safety for Students with Low Vision event, helping students and families build confidence using public transit.
Students explored traffic safety, toured a bus, and learned transit skills alongside Tricia Pokorny from the CNIB Foundation and her guide dog, Jiggs.
Thank you to Transdev Canada, the Municipality of North Cowichan, and all our community partners for making this special day possible.

On National Indigenous Peoples Day, join communities across British Columbia in celebrating the cultures, histories, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.
We encourage you to be a part of the celebration. Catch the bus to a local powwow, grab lunch and support a local Indigenous business or head out to events:

As a public service connecting people and communities throughout the province, we recognize that our work takes place on the ancestral and unceded territories of Indigenous Peoples whose enduring relationships with these lands continue today.

When Flo wrote to Campbell River Council about handyDART, her words reminded us exactly why this service matters.
Her loved one Keith has lived in a care home for 9 years after a stroke left him wheelchair-bound. For over a year, he couldn’t leave. That was until they discovered handyDART.
Now, Keith visits family, gets to appointments, and feels more independent. As Flo puts it: “It seriously changed his life.”
