Well, it's been over 5 months with (almost) no Instagram. I definitely don't miss the time-vortex it's designed to be. Especially when I have so little time to spare...

I do miss making art. I've been scribbling away at a writing project (5 minutes here, 20 minutes there...), which will eventually involve some drawings too, but it's probably going to be literal years before it's ready to share 🫠

Meanwhile the real masterpiece continues to both bewilder and delight on the daily. Babyland is wild to say the very least.

Anyway I imagine my Instagram usage will continue in this mostly off trajectory until I have artwork to share... you know where else to find me 🤙

A painting I managed to squeeze in BBE (before baby era). It's based on a sketch from back when I used to go places and see people for fun 😂 (and draw at social gatherings): "Quincy & David" 🤙 *sold*

I finished this painting earlier in the summer, but I suddenly barely have a moment to spare on posting... anywho, here it is now, with autumn just around the corner 🍂 *sold*

Does this count as art? These are 2 of many plant pals I nestled into fun little homes for my friends/colleagues at the end of the school year (sorry to bring up the s-word mid-summer) 🪴✨️

I'm having such a hard time rallying to post lately. It's mostly that my energy is going elsewhere, but it's also that I find social media deeply problematic... or the way it's used anyway. And now this meta feeding all of our images to AI bs... how concerned are y'all? Like what are the chances one lowly artist's work will be used? And will it be so altered that it doesn't even matter? Ijdk.
