Tessa and Marc have known each other for years, crossing paths in the technology and business sectors. One hot summer afternoon in July 2025, Marc approached Tessa at a VIATEC Summer Social at a Pacific FC match and said "Hey! We should put on a Victoria Tech Week together!" Cities like Boulder, Seattle and NY already have successful models – how hard could it be?!

They managed to whip it together in just a few shorts months (with a few bumps along the way), and put it on during Prompt Victoria and Discover Tectoria in order to have anchor events around it.

Now in it's second year with over 3X as many events as last year (and no anchor events to babysit), it's safe to say this community-driven event week has its legs!

Tessa drives events, communication and marketing at VIATEC and has a unique background in event marketing for not-for-profits, tech companies, restaurants and retail advertising.

Marc "turns confusion into clarity, and clarity into momentum" as a Revenue Architect that focuses on building scalable growth systems for companies in the $1-10M ARR range.

Sending our friends at RIFFLANDIA FESTIVAL all our love as they break today's tough news: The Rifflandia Festival has closed its gates for good.
Our entire crew has made many memories over the years, working with Rifflandia on different activations (Like the Tectoria space bus, and the art car), tying it into our investor summit, bringing "Thinklandia" to a parkade rooftop, handing out rain ponchos and prism glasses, and most memorably... tossing hundreds of inflatable whales into the crowd.
The tech community and the arts community are intertwined, and Rifflandia brought that out more than any festival. Thank you for the memories.
