Cookie is back home after a short adventure vacation! 😂

Our girl wandered off for a little unscheduled getaway and apparently made the most of it — enjoying long walks, some forest exploring and a serious game of hide-and-seek.

Thankfully, she is now safely back home.

A huge thank you to the community members who helped us find her, and to everyone who shared, kept an eye out and helped spread the word. We’re so grateful for our wonderful community!

We’ve had quite a few new faces following along lately, so we thought we’d introduce Wallace River Ranch.

We’re a small family-run ranch in rural Nova Scotia with **three private geodesic domes** tucked into the property.

One is our traditional dome, and two now have **real glass fronts** — something we were very excited to introduce as the first accommodation provider in Nova Scotia to offer glass-front geodesic domes.

Each dome has everything you need for a comfortable getaway:

✨King-size bed
✨Wood stove
✨Fully equipped kitchen
✨Private bathroom
✨Private hot tub

And our Bear Dome has its own **private wood-fired sauna** too.

But staying here is about more than the dome.

You can wander around the ranch and visit our animals from outside the fences at your own pace, or book one of our ranch experiences if you’d like to get a little closer.

Take a walk down to the Wallace River, explore the property, hop onto the nearby Trans Canada Trail, visit a local winery or cidery, hit one of the nearby golf courses, or head out and explore the surrounding area.

We’re also close to Ski Wentworth, Pugwash and Tatamagouche — so there’s lots to do if you feel like leaving your hot tub. 😂

Or you can do absolutely nothing at all.

That works pretty well here too.

A little ranch update for our guests… Cookie is going on a “vacation” starting this week.

She’ll be away from Wallace River Ranch for a few weeks while she spends some time with a Highland bull… and with a little luck, we may have an exciting addition to look forward to down the road. 😊

So if you’re visiting us over the next little while and don’t see Cookie in the pasture, don’t worry — she’s just away on a very important little getaway.

We’ll miss seeing her around the ranch, but hopefully it will be worth it.

We’ve made our Golden Hour Ranch Experience a little more hands-on.

When I lived in the city, I remember looking for places where you could actually get out into the country, spend time with animals, brush a pony, help with feeding and really experience a little bit of ranch life — without, of course, having to own the farm yourself.

That’s exactly the kind of experience we want to offer here.

If you’re staying with us and want to experience more of the ranch, you can come inside the pasture, meet the animals up close, help with feeding, spend some time brushing the ponies and enjoy a slower evening around the barn.

And when you’re done, you can head back to your dome, put your feet up and relax for the evening.

And because we like the little details, the experience also includes a welcome amenity waiting for you when you arrive.

It’s a fun way to do more than just stay at the ranch — you actually get to be part of it for a little while.

Perfect for animal lovers, families, couples… or anyone who secretly just wants an excuse to brush a pony on vacation. 😂

And just to clarify — all of our overnight guests are always welcome to wander the property and visit the animals at their own pace from outside the fences.

We’re not quite here yet… but it’s coming. 🍂

And apparently everyone else knows it too, because our fall weekends are almost completely booked.

If you’ve been thinking about a cozy fall getaway at the ranch, there are only a few weekend dates left. Midweek still has a little more availability if you can sneak away.

Soon enough it’ll be colorful trails, cool evenings, cozy domes and the kind of weather that makes staying in feel like a very good idea. ❤️

Of course, Eva thought it was pretty amazing too and even got the chance to sit inside. Such a fun little memory from their stay and definitely not something we see pulling into the ranch every day!
