Our sweet, kind Jenna was diagnosed with Selective Mutism when she was 8. She has never spoken out loud at school, and she avoids any social situations because the fear of being asked a question or not being able to communicate makes her anxiety to high. In recent years, when she gets too anxious or overwhelmed, she faints. High school has been a big struggle for her. She wishes she could just communicate with everyone and not feel so scared all the time.
October is Selective Mutism Awareness Month. Please take a minute to read about the disorder, and spread the word, so Jenna won't feel so alone 😥❤️
