(I forgot to share my market setup due to how late I got home that night lol- apologies for such a late post!)

I FINALLY FINISHED THE TOP PIECE FOR MY JILT™!!!! (Jean quilt, for the uninitiated lol). I've been working on this since July of 2024, including the pattern making, technique learning, Jean acquisition (there are at LEAST 15 pairs being used here), and sewing it all together.
There's also a lot of aqua accent thread in this as well- any small holes in the denim (usually caused by either my deconstruction, or whatever put the jeans out of commission in the first place) were filled using different techniques like Darning and fill stitches. There are 6 functional pockets hiding in this quilt top too- 4 big ones, and 2 mini ones!

I've had fun exploring the different ways to repurpose denim over this process! I've been able to keep a lot of material out of landfills from this (and other) project, which is also very fulfilling 🥰 It's been super fun to just get called up by friends (and even some random people) and offered material to use, meaning that I've been able to keep any new material from being used in this quilt top. Even for the log cabin block chevron design in the middle, I'm using repurposed fun fabric, with repurposed black fabric pieces under each fun piece, to keep the thickness across the project consistent (or, at least, as consistent as repurposed denim pieces can be lol!)

Fun fact- "Quilting" actually refers to the process of sandwiching the layers together and creating the thread patterns, not the piecing together of the fabric designs of the top piece. I need to practice on some smaller pieces first, before jumping into that. I plan to keep the quilting simple for this, maybe only doing fancy designs on the blank empty spaces between the star blocks. I also have a thrifted bedsheet that I'll be using as my backing fabric ready to go- two of them, actually! I just need to make a final decision on which to use. Once I've done the quilting, the edges will be bound (likely with more denim, if I think I have enough lol!)

Shades of Gold collection

This collection features an ombre of different shades of white, cream, and gold. I had some requests to revisit this colourway, so I grabbed some shades and threw them into my project bag. You know how I love bead soup too, so the end of this project was done by throwing the little left over into one container!

Fun fact- all of these have been made during markets I've been vending at in the past month! I like to keep myself busy during events with projects, so working within a colourway is a fun way to do that 🥰

All of these (and more) are available on my website! Feel free to message me if you have any questions, or if you want to order them without the website 😘
