The Kitchener-Waterloo Skating Club holds a special place in the hearts of thousands of local families who for generations have entrusted us to teach their children to skate. We offer learn-to-skate, figure skating, and power skating programs for beginners through to elite athletes, and we are one of Canada's largest and most successful skating clubs. Our Learn-to-Skate programs are designed to teach fundamental skating skills to people of all ages interested in ice sports such as hockey, ringette, and figure skating, as well as those wanting to skate for fitness and enjoyment.

Happy National Coaches’ Week!
This week, we’re celebrating and thanking our incredible KWSC Figure Skating coaching team, including our base coaches, support coaches, specialty coaches, and off-ice instructors, for the expertise, dedication, encouragement, and passion they bring to our skaters every day.
Every day, our coaches bring our KWSC values to life through RISE: Respect. Inspiration. Support. Excellence.
They help skaters rise to new challenges, show respect for themselves and others, find inspiration, feel supported, and strive for excellence both on and off the ice.
Behind every achievement, milestone, and personal best is a coach who believes in their skaters, shares their knowledge, and helps foster a lifelong love of sport.
Passion Lives Here.

Representing KWSC 💙 & Canada 🇨🇦 in Vernon, BC! Best of luck to adult skaters Carly Brox and Liz Bauer as they compete at the 2026 International Adult Figure Skating Championships this week. We are of you both!
Creating an inclusive skating environment starts with continuing to learn, listen and grow.
As part of our ongoing CanSkate coach development, our coaches took part in an Inclusivity Workshop led by Lakhdeep Dhaliwal, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at Four Simple Words.
The session provided our coaching team with valuable insight and practical tools to help create positive, welcoming and engaging learning environments where every skater feels respected, supported and included.
A heartfelt thank you to Lakhdeep for delivering this important training and sharing your knowledge and expertise with our coaches. We are grateful for the time and thought you brought to this important conversation.

Great skating starts with great coaching, and great coaching starts with coaches who care.
At KWSC, we believe that investing in our coaches means investing in every skater who steps onto the ice. Our CanSkate coaches have all gone through coach training designed to strengthen their knowledge, teaching skills and ability to create positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environments.
From understanding how children learn to building confidence, connection and strong skating foundations, our coaches are continually developing their craft and finding new ways to help every skater feel successful.
This National Coaches’ Week, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to our incredible CanSkate coaches. Thank you for your time, your patience, your energy and your enthusiasm. Thank you for celebrating the little wins, encouraging skaters through the challenging moments, and making the rink a place where our youngest skaters can learn, grow and have fun.
Passion Lives Here.
