A dark and sumptuos work, that evokes both the turmoil in the soul of the writer of Psalm 42, and inspired in part by the proximity of St John's Elora to the Elora Gorge Falls just blocks away, but also -- in the words of the composer Roderick Williams -- "an offer of hope which lifts the psalmist out of these dark thoughts, towards something calming, reassuring and beautiful."

Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?

my Savior and my God.

Deep calls to deep
