⬇️⬇️⬇️ PSA
I had a heartbreaking conversation yesterday. A woman had just put her beloved 4-year-old cat to sleep because he was peeing outside the litter box.
She told me she’d done multiple urinalyses and they were all normal. “He just developed an incurable behavior problem,” she told me. She was heartbroken.
I asked her how often she was scooping the litter box, and there was a long pause.
“Maybe once a week.”
I asked how often she was completely emptying and cleaning her cat’s litter box and replacing the litter. She couldn’t remember, because she just added more litter when the box got low.
Imagine only flushing your toilet once a week—and never cleaning it. Eventually, even entering your bathroom would become almost unbearable.
Cats feel the same way.
They are incredibly clean animals, and if their toilet is disgusting, they may choose to stop using it and find a more acceptable place to go potty (for them, not for you).
😿 I’ve spent the last 24 hours thinking about this potentially unnecessary euthanasia, so I’ve decided to do a PSA about it 💔:
If your cat suddenly stops using the litter box, there could absolutely be a medical reason, so always rule that out first. But if your cat is healthy, take a hard look at your litter box hygiene.
Scoop every day. Disinfect it often. Replace the litter regularly. Cats deserve a clean potty, too.
It matters to your cat, and therefore it should matter to you. ❤️

Are we the best cat sitters in KW?
Leroy and his sister Mabel say YES!
When your toughest critics are also your biggest fans, you know you’re doing something right.
Their review carries more weight than anyones and we wouldn’t want it any other way!

URGENT: Bebe Needs a Loving New Home or Foster Family
Meet Bebe, a sweet girl who needs a new home through no fault of her own. ❤️
She is a large girl at 25lbs but is super sweet and well mannered.
Bebe was adopted from the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society in 2021. At the time, she was estimated to be between one and three years old, making her approximately six to nine years old today. She had originally been found abandoned outside the clinic. Her adopter was supposed to pick up a kitten the following day but after meeting Bebe, he decided she was the one for him.
Sadly, Bebe’s owner is a senior living with Alzheimer’s and is no longer able to safely care for or manage Bebe’s needs. His veterinarian Dr. Jill, has determined that it would not be safe for Bebe to return home because of her daily medical requirements.
Bebe has been receiving care from us for the past few months, including visits in her home. Yesterday, we noticed some concerning symptoms which led to a veterinary visit and a new course of action.
Bebe has recently been diagnosed with diabetes and is currently being cared for at Beechmount Animal Clinic. Her veterinary team believes that oral medication and a diabetic diet may be effective alternatives to insulin injections. However, insulin may still be required, so her future caregiver must be prepared for that possibility. Her treatment plan will ultimately depend on where she is placed and who will be responsible for her care.
Ideally, we would love to find Bebe a home with someone who has previous experience caring for diabetic cats. A quiet home where she would be the only pet would also be wonderful.
❤️ Bebe’s family is committed to helping her.
They are willing to contribute financially toward:
• Bebe’s medications
• Veterinary care
• Other reasonable expenses related to her ongoing care
They are also willing to work with a rescue, foster family, foster-to-adopt family or permanent adopter. Their only goal is to ensure that Bebe is safe, loved, and properly cared for.
Bebe is currently staying at Beechmount Animal Clinic while we search for a solution, but she cannot remain there indefinitely. We are urgently looking for a foster home, foster-to-adopt placement, rescue placement or permanent home.
This is not a surrender because Bebe is unwanted. Her family loves her and is making the responsible decision for her now that her owner’s health has made it impossible for him to provide the care she needs.
We are looking for someone who can offer Bebe the stability, patience, and love she deserves.
If you are interested in fostering or adopting Bebe or if you know of a rescue organization or experienced caregiver who may be able to help—please reach out.
📞 519-589-3808
Please share this post. Even if you cannot take Bebe yourself, your share may help us reach the person or rescue organization who can give this sweet girl her second chance.
Additional information about Bebe and her medical care is available. We can also coordinate directly with Beechmount Animal Clinic and Bebe’s family for anyone seriously interested in helping.

Happy International Dog Day!
🐾❤️🐾
International Dog Day was founded to help promote the adoption of pups in shelters around the world, and today is a wonderful reminder of all the dogs waiting for their forever homes.
It’s also a day to officially thank the pups in our lives for their unconditional love, loyalty, and for being there through all of life’s ups and downs.
We’ll be celebrating our furry friends with extra walks, treats, new toys, extra snuggles and of course, plenty of belly rubs!
Here’s to all the wonderful dogs who make our lives happier every single day!
In case you needed a few smiles on this dreary Sunday morning!
