As the daughter of a breast cancer survivor, it was heartwarming to meet some of the Dragonflyers Breast Cancer Dragon Boat Team and part of the Waterloo Paddling Club who are at the 2026 IBCPC Participatory Dragon Boat Festival, France! 🇫🇷🐉

They shared that this is so much more than a dragon boat race. It’s a celebration of survivorship, strength, friendship, courage, and the incredible bonds created through paddling.

These amazing individuals, through challenges, triumphs, laughter, and everything in between, have shown what it means to paddle forward together. This week, they’ll have the opportunity to represent and to join breast cancer survivor teams from around the world in France and be part of an unforgettable celebration of life and community.

Let’s cheer on the Dragonflyers Breast Cancer Dragon Boat Team as they race in the 500m and 200m events. One team. One rhythm. One powerful message: together, we are stronger. 🇨🇦

Canada is facing a serious moment.

The latest U.S. tariffs are not abstract numbers. They affect Canadian workers, businesses, farmers, manufacturers and families in communities across our country.

We will stand up for Canadian jobs and Canadian interests. We will respond thoughtfully and firmly when our interests are challenged, while continuing to work for a strong and constructive relationship with the United States.

Our two countries have built extraordinary economic and personal ties over generations. Americans are not our enemy. But Canada will always defend its sovereignty, its workers and its economy.

This is the time for Canadians to stand together on all levels of government and society to defend and protect our community together.

I will continue listening to the people and businesses in our community, bringing your concerns and feedback to Ottawa, and working to ensure that Canadians have the support they need through this period of uncertainty.

We are stronger when we act together. So whenever two products or services are comparable, let’s support Canadian workers and local businesses. 🇨🇦

This day in 1942, marked the single bloodiest day of the Second World War for Canada's military. It is a deeply significant day for Canada and the Canadian Armed Forces as it is the anniversary of the Dieppe Raid (Operation Jubilee).

Despite the tragic loss, the hard-learned tactical lessons regarding amphibious assaults and intelligence directly shaped the successful D-Day landings in Normandy on June 6, 1944.
We are grateful for the men and women who have and continue to serve in uniform.
