Cannabus is a three-piece stoner/desert rock band hailing from Welland, Ontario, Canada. Formed by vocalist/guitarist James M, bassist Ethan S, and drummer Brandon D, the band fuses fuzzed-out blues rock with elements of heavy psych, punk, and metal. Their sound draws inspiration from the psychedelic vibes of the '60s and '70s, combined with the thunderous riffs characteristic of '90s stoner rock. Their debut EP, The Maple Spliff Sessions (April 2023), emerged from a year and a half of jam sessions, culminating in a four-track release that encapsulates their trippy, riff-heavy style. Building on this foundation, they released Other Side in April 2024 through Black Throne Productions, showcasing their evolving sound. In April 2025, they followed up with a live single, Desert Trip – Live at Rhune Mountain, capturing the raw energy of their performances. Cannabus has been actively touring across Southern Ontario and Quebec, bringing their heavy, fuzz-laden sound to venues like The Kavern in Welland, Doors Pub and Vertagogo in Hamilton, and the Bovine S*x Club in Toronto. They maintain an active presence on Facebook , Instagram and Tik tok, where fans can stay updated on their latest releases and tour dates.
