Excel Ranches

Well, apparently college thinks it needs Sarah back, so today was her last day with us at Excel.

And we’re not overly thrilled about it. 😂

A real “cow” girl is pretty hard to find. Someone who actually loves cows, is good with them, notices the little things, isn’t afraid to get dirty, and is perfectly happy spending her day doing whatever job the cattle have decided needs doing.

Sarah fit right in around here from day one. She was always willing to jump in wherever she was needed, head out on her own, and somehow never complained when very chatty little helpers volunteered for to join too 😂 We’re pretty sure there were a few drives where Sarah got significantly more conversation than she bargained for, but she always made room for a sidekick.

There are hired hands, and then there are people who just become part of the everyday chaos around the ranch.

Thank you, Sarah, for all the miles, the long days, the laughs, the extra sets of eyes, and most of all for caring about our cows(and kids, and ducks, border collies and even squeakers) like we do.

We sure lucked out with you.

Have a great year back at college. We’ll miss you around here. And if you get tired of textbooks, you know where there’s always a cow that needs something. 😂🤍 Sarah Bowman
