Something I’ve been building is about to be revealed. Not just a piece, a moment I’ve been working toward for a while now.
Stay close. It’s coming.
Before it’s wood, it’s a formula.
People see the finished piece. They don’t see this part, the wall covered in sketches, half-formed ideas, a formula written and rewritten until it actually says something true.
Every sculpture starts as a question about movement, about force, about what happens in the space between one position and the next.
Then it becomes a line. Then a curve. Then, eventually, a piece you can stand in front of.
This is that part of the process we don’t usually show.

The Break.
Some pieces sit still. This one moves.
Sharp wings unfold from a single point of light, caught mid motion, like the exact second something breaks free from what was holding it down. Every angle carved by hand, every curve chasing the same idea: that breaking isn’t always destruction. Sometimes it’s the only way something new gets to exist.
Look closer and you’ll find a silhouette in there, a bird, a dancer, a body mid leap. That’s on purpose. What you see in it says as much about you as it does about the piece.
Beyond the finish.
We talked a lot in this one about the projects we’ve built together. But the most important thing that came out of it wasn’t a table or a collaboration, it was the connection between people.
We often get caught up thinking about how something looks, how people will see us, how the picture reads. And in that thinking, we sometimes forget why we do what we do, and why we keep going.
We’re here to remind you.
light2matter was never only about how it looks. It’s about where it comes from, and why. What’s inside the piece, and who are the people, or the silhouettes, hidden in a specific posture or line.
The one who creates it sees it one way. The one who observes it sees another. And that’s exactly how it should be. Different views, different experiences, that’s what makes it alive. That’s what makes it real.

The Wave.
A glass top that lets the eye travel straight through, resting on two crossed beams of solid wood, shaped by hand until every curve felt intentional. A single line of light runs along the base, tracing the joint where the two pieces meet and hold each other up.
Designed for Cantinova Café | MTL, built to carry vintage audio gear and hold its own next to it.
Form and function, meeting in the middle.
The architect of being human.
That’s the story behind the creation of The Wave table. The first big project made for Cantinova Café | MTL .
Creating this piece was never only about aesthetics or great acoustics. It was about proving how people and their ideas can come together to create something meaningful, something with a real story and real thought behind it.
We are all creatures who always want to create something, whether it’s with our hands, our thoughts, or together with others. We were designed to build, and light2matter is exactly about that creation.

The Calcination.
The alchemists did not begin with transformation.
They began with fire.
Not the fire that destroys. The fire that separates.
Calcination is the first stage of the Great Work — the reduction of original matter to its essential mineral salts. Everything volatile, everything accumulated, everything that was never truly part of the substance: burned away.
What remains is not the residue of something lost.
It is the foundation of everything that comes after.
The ancients understood something that modernity forgot: that before anything real can be constructed, the material must first be brought to its irreducible truth. Not broken. Clarified.
Two forms rise from a single origin and diverge on the way up.
This is not separation.
This is what emergence looks like from the outside — when one thing discovers it was always carrying two truths, and the heat finally gave them room to become distinct.
The wood holds the warmth of what passed through it.
Not as trace. As structure.
As the proof that something survived the reduction not despite the fire, but because of it.
The burning is not the violence.
The attachment to what burned is.
