Allow me to reintroduce myself š
Iām Nadine, a birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, lactation educator, placenta specialist, doula instructor and mentor.
Since becoming a doula in 2016, Iāve had the incredible honour of supporting more than 350 families through pregnancy, birth and those tender early postpartum days.
Whether Iām walking into a hospital, teaching future doulas or helping new parents find their footing, my goal remains the same: to help families feel prepared, grounded and empowered.
If youāre expecting a baby, navigating postpartum or dreaming of becoming a doula yourself, youāre in the right place.
Follow along for evidence-based education, honest conversations and a behind-the-scenes look at life as a doula.
Walking through these doors never feels routine.
Even after supporting hundreds of births, I still feel the weight and privilege of being invited into such an intimate, life-changing moment.
A new baby is about to be born. A family is about to change forever. And Iām heading in, ready to bring calm, reassurance, knowledge and steady support through whatever the hours ahead may hold.
This work will never be ājust another day at the hospital.ā
It is always an honour.
Having doula support means having someone in your corner who understands birth, knows your preferences, and helps you feel prepared, grounded and empowered every step of the way.
A doula doesnāt replace your partner or your medical team, we help everyone work together so you feel informed, supported and never alone.
What would having that kind of support mean to you? š
Two hospitals. Two beautiful births. One unforgettable night on call. š
I started the evening at Scarborough General, where a sweet baby girl made her arrival. A few hours later, just as I got home, another client called, her contractions were coming every three minutes.
There was no going to bed just yet!
I headed straight to Lakeridge Health Oshawa, where things moved incredibly quickly. Her entire labour was only 2 hours and 45 minutes, and her baby boy arrived at 2:44 a.m. There wasnāt even time to take photos, thatās how fast it all happened!
This is the unpredictable reality of life as a birth doula. Some nights are quiet. Others take you from one hospital to another, witnessing two families meet their babies within the span of a few hours.
Exhausted? Absolutely. But mostly, Iām just so grateful that this is the work I get to do. ā¤ļø
Putting the doula content aside for a moment because today was about me. š
Iāve been struggling with what to do with my hair for quite some time. I wanted to work with my natural grey instead of constantly fighting it, but finding someone who truly understood grey blending, and what I was hoping to achieve, wasnāt easy.
Then I saw the hair of a former client of mine and she looked incredible. Naturally, I immediately went looking through the page of the woman who had done itā¦and that led me to Nicky at Jesus is my King š He is my business partner š¤
Today, I finally took the leap and trusted her with my hair. I donāt have the final reveal ready to share just yet, but itās coming!
Have you embraced your greys, covered them, or are you somewhere in between? Tell me below. š

Hi, Iām Nadine! āØ
If youāre new here, welcome. Iām so glad youāre here.
Iām Nadine, a Birth & Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator, Placenta Encapsulation Specialist, and mentor to new doulas. For nearly a decade, Iāve had the incredible privilege of walking alongside families during one of the most transformative seasons of their lives.
Iāve supported more than 350 births, but what continues to inspire me isnāt the number, itās the relationships.
I believe every family deserves to feel heard, respected, informed, and genuinely supported. My role isnāt to make decisions for you, itās to help you understand your options, build confidence, and create space for you to make the choices that feel right for your family.
Whether youāre planning an unmedicated birth, an epidural, an induction, a cesarean birth, or youāre simply feeling overwhelmed by all the information out there, Iām here to provide evidence-based education, emotional support, hands-on comfort measures, and a calm, reassuring presence.
Beyond birth, I also support families as they adjust to life with a new baby through postpartum care, newborn education, feeding support, and placenta encapsulation.
When Iām not attending births or teaching classes, youāll usually find me mentoring the next generation of doulas, reading the latest birth research, cuddling a newborn, or spending time with my family (and my very enthusiastic dogs, Zeus & Heraš¾).
At the heart of everything I do is one simple belief:
š¤ Birth isnāt just about welcoming a baby, itās also about welcoming a new parent.
Thank you for being here and allowing me to be part of this amazing community.
Iād love to get to know you! Tell me in the comments:
⨠Are you expecting, postpartum, trying to conceive, or simply here because you love all things birth?

Some births are fast. Some are long. And some ask everyone in the room to dig a little deeper.
Today was one of those births.
After hours of patience, perseverance, teamwork, and unwavering trust, this incredible family welcomed their baby into the world.
Watching my clients find strength they didnāt know they had never gets old. Every birth reminds me why I do this work.
I donāt measure success by how quickly a baby arrives or whether everything goes exactly according to plan. Success is seeing parents feel supported, informed, respected, and empowered through every twist and turn of their journey.
Today was one of those days, and I couldnāt be happier for this beautiful family.
I left the hospital tired, grateful, and once again reminded what an incredible privilege it is to be welcomed into one of lifeās most transformative moments.
Congratulations to this amazing family. It was an honour to walk alongside you.

One of the greatest gifts this work has given me is the people I get to share it with.
Today I met up with Coral Adams for brunch. We spent a few hours catching up, dreaming big, and talking about both our short-term and long-term goals.
Coral has been my secondary doula for the past two years, but our journey together actually began even earlier. She was part of my very first doula training as an instructor with Doula Canada back in 2022. Watching her grow into the incredible doula she is today has been such a privilege.
Something Iāve been intentionally changing in my language is referring to this role as a secondary doula rather than a backup doula. Words matter.
A secondary doula isnāt āPlan B.ā Theyāre a trusted colleague, an experienced birth professional, and an extension of the care and values I promise every family. Theyāre someone I trust completely to step in seamlessly should the unexpected happen, ensuring my clients are always supported.
Birth work was never meant to be done alone. The strongest care comes from collaboration, mentorship, and a community of professionals who genuinely want to see one another succeed.
Iām so grateful for friendships like this, ones that challenge me, inspire me, and remind me that while birth may be the work we do, itās the relationships we build along the way that make this career so meaningful.
Hereās to dreaming bigger, supporting one another, and continuing to grow together.

New book alert!
Iāve been following Jen Hamilton for years and have admired the way she educates, advocates, and brings humour and honesty to conversations around pregnancy, birth, and parenting.
Iām so excited to finally dive into Birth Vibes: Stories and Strategies for an Empowered Birth. As a doula, I love continuing to learn from different voices and perspectives, and I have a feeling this one is going to be filled with practical wisdom, encouragement, and stories that resonate deeply with both birth professionals and expecting families.
Thereās always something new to learn in this work, and Iām looking forward to seeing what insights Jen shares in these pages.
Have you read this book yet? Iād love to hear your thoughts!

Just returned from my 350th birth, and Iām sitting in so much reflection.
The trust, the vulnerability, the strength Iāve witnessed over the years, it never stops humbling me.
To be invited into these spaces is something I will never take for granted.
So deeply grateful to be walking this path.
