The Whitby Professional Firefiighters’ Association is proud to endorse Victoria Bozinovski for East Ward Councillor.

Throughout her time on Council, we have built a strong working relationship with Victoria based on open communication, respect, and a shared commitment to the community.

Victoria has consistently been willing to listen to our members, ask questions, and take the time to understand the needs of Whitby’s fire service and the challenges that come with serving a growing community.

She understands that public safety is an essential service and that as Whitby continues to grow, our fire service needs the staffing, resources, and equipment necessary to keep pace and continue protecting residents.

We also appreciate Victoria’s accessibility and her willingness to have open and respectful conversations, even when tackling difficult issues. She has remained focused on the needs of East Ward residents and the community she represents.

Keeping Whitby safe also means looking after the firefighters who are there when our community needs them.

Firefighting comes with risks that extend beyond the emergency itself. That’s why continued investment in modern protective equipment and firefighter health and safety is so important.

Mayor Elizabeth Roy has recognized the importance of protecting the long-term health of Whitby’s firefighters and supported investments that help ensure our crews have the equipment they need to do their jobs as safely as possible, including funding for new protective gear.

For us, that support means knowing the health and safety of the people behind the uniform remains part of the conversation.

Because protecting Whitby also means protecting the people who answer the call.

She understands the importance of community safety and ensuring the services residents depend on keep pace with that growth. For our members, that means continuing to have important conversations about the staffing, resources, and investments needed to keep both the public and our firefighters safe.

Beyond public safety, Niki has demonstrated a strong commitment to the community she represents. We value her accessibility, her willingness to engage on difficult issues, and the working relationship we have developed with her during her time on Council.

Giving back has always been an important part of what makes Whitby feel like home.

From supporting local charities to helping initiatives that make a difference for families across our community, there are countless opportunities to make an impact beyond our everyday roles.

Mayor Elizabeth Roy has supported community initiatives and organizations that work to make Whitby a better place for the people who live here.

As your Whitby firefighters, we’re proud to do our part and appreciate leadership that recognizes the value of giving back.

Because a stronger Whitby is built when we all find ways to contribute.
