A little preparation can be an act of care for your home, your belongings and the people you share them with.

Flood prevention may not be the most exciting item on a weekend to-do list, but a few simple steps today can help make a stressful situation easier to manage later.

Show your basement a little extra love by:

• Raising appliances, electronics and valuables off the floor
• Storing important belongings in sealed plastic bins instead of cardboard boxes
• Choosing water-resistant materials for cabinets, flooring and finishes
• Installing leak detectors and maintaining your sump pump, ideally with a battery backup
• Sealing cracks in walls, floors and around windows
• Making sure water drains away from your foundation through gutters and proper grading
• Reviewing what your insurance policy covers, and what it does not
• Creating an emergency plan and documenting important belongings

You cannot control the weather. But taking care of the little things now can help protect the people, spaces and memories that matter most later.

Got a road trip planned before the summer ends? 🚗☀️

Before you hit the road, take a few minutes to make sure your vehicle is ready for the journey ahead.

✔️ Check your tire pressure and tread
✔️ Top up essential fluids, including oil, coolant and windshield washer fluid
✔️ Test your headlights, brake lights and turn signals
✔️ Make sure your spare tire and emergency kit are ready to go
✔️ Check your brakes, battery and wipers
✔️ Plan your route and take a look at the forecast before you leave

A little preparation can help make your drive safer, smoother and more enjoyable.

Wherever the road takes you, drive safe and enjoy the ride.

Heading out for a long weekend on the water? Even if you’re a seasoned navigator, safety should always be part of the plan.

Before you cast off, take a few minutes to make sure your boat and everyone on board are ready for the day ahead:

✔️ Check the weather and water conditions, and avoid strong currents or areas you may not be able to navigate safely
✔️ Dress for the weather and bring plenty of water to stay hydrated
✔️ Make sure properly fitted life jackets are available for everyone on board (including your pup!)
✔️ Pack essential safety equipment
✔️ Let someone know where you’re going and when you plan to return
✔️ Check your fuel level and battery, and keep emergency paddles on board if you’re using a motorboat

A little preparation can help keep your outing safe, smooth and focused on making great memories. 🚤💙

🌡️ Extreme heat doesn't just affect people.

High temperatures can put extra stress on your vehicle, leading to engine overheating, tire pressure issues, battery strain, and reduced air conditioning performance.

Before the next heat wave, take a few minutes to:
✔️ Check your coolant levels
✔️ Have your air conditioning system inspected
✔️ Monitor your tire pressure
✔️ Keep an emergency kit in your vehicle

A little prevention can help you avoid unwanted surprises and make the most of those hot summer days.
