The Night Before Racing

'Twas the night before racing, and all through the shop,
Not a wrench was left turning, not one final stop.

The helmets were hung by the trailer with care,
In hopes that race day would soon fill the air.

The kart sat on scales, balanced just right,
Every pound carefully checked for tomorrow night's fight.

The tires were measured, the pressures just so,
Ready to bite when the green flag was a good.

The chain had been tightened, the fuel topped off,
No shortcuts were taken, no "good enough."

Each nut and each bolt had one final look,
Experience written like pages in a book.

The trailer was packed with precision and pride,
Spare parts and the toolbox all tucked safely inside.

The fuel jug, the lift, and the air tank were set,
Prepared for whatever the race night might get.

The racing suit waited, all clean and zipped tight,
With gloves and neck brace laid out for first green

Though sleep would be welcome, it wouldn't come fast,
As dreams of the checkered flag raced by at last.

For tomorrow the engines will thunder and roar,
Throwing clay through the corners like never before.

Friends and family will gather beneath the bright lights,
Cheering on every lap and every hard fight.

So here's to the racers, both young and grown,
Who chase every dream the dirt has ever known.

Now close your eyes tightly, for morning comes soon...
Tomorrow we'll dance with the dirt beneath the moon.

Kart was torn down, fresh powder coat last November, all worn parts replaced. Comes with used body (black or yellow).

No tach, lead, wheels, or motor

2nd - brand new set of silver van k wheels

3rd - brand new set of maxxis pink/blue tires

4th - $50 gas card

🏁 The side of kart racing you don't always see...

Most race nights, we share the smiles, the dirt, and the laps. What we don't often post about are the broken parts, bent bars, late nights in the garage, empty wallets, and countless hours spent wrenching on the kart just to find a few hundredths of a second the next time we hit the dirt.

This week, after members of our team were yelled at by another team, we thought it was worth sharing a little of our reality.

Every family at the track is fighting their own battles. Some are repairing crash damage, some are chasing mechanical gremlins, and all of us are sacrificing time, money, and sleep because we love this sport and want our drivers to succeed.

We don't measure success only by the wins. We measure it by the lessons learned, the progress made, and the memories built together.

So the next time you see us at the track, remember there's a whole lot more behind those lap times than what happens during the feature. We'll keep turning wrenches, learning, improving, and showing up... because that's what racers do. 💙💛🏁
