Happy Money Talk Monday!
With the holiday season fast approaching - you may be planning to host family and friends over for delicious meals.
But, grocery bills for large get-togethers can add up fast.
A little planning can help keep costs manageable. Try planning your menu around what’s on sale, using ingredients you already have, keeping the menu simple, or making the meal potluck-style and asking guests to bring a dish.
What’s your go-to way to save money when hosting a holiday meal?

You got a raise! But somehow, your bank account doesn’t feel much different. Sound familiar?
As our income changes, it’s natural for our habits to change with it. The trick is making sure those changes reflect what actually matters to you, instead of happening without you noticing.
A little check-in with your spending every now and then can help keep your money moving toward the things you care about.
Have you ever noticed lifestyle creep in your own spending?

On National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we take time to honour Survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize the lasting impacts of the residential school system on Indigenous families and communities.
Over the past year, we have had the privilege of working with 27 First Nations communities through our Financial Wellness in First Nations (FWFN) project. We are grateful for the relationships and trust built through this work, and for the opportunity to listen, learn, and support financial wellness in the communities we work alongside.
We remain committed to learning from the truth, strengthening relationships, and contributing to reconciliation through our actions - not only today, but throughout the year.

Your credit card might be able to do more for you than you realize.
Many credit cards come with built-in perks like cash back or travel rewards, but they can also include extra benefits that could save you money when something goes wrong.
Here are a few benefits worth checking for:
Purchase Assurance: Some credit cards cover eligible purchases if they're damaged or stolen for a limited period after you buy them.
Extended Warranty: Some cards automatically extend the manufacturer's warranty on eligible purchases by up to one additional year.
Rewards & Cash Back: Make sure you're taking advantage of the rewards your card already offers, whether that's cash back, points or travel perks.
Remember - make sure to try your best to only use your credit card when you have the money to pay it off.
Are there other credit card benefits you use?
