FROM CONSTRUCTION SITE TO COMMERCIAL OPERATION — PROUD TO HAVE BUILT OUR PART OF A LANDMARK ENERGY PROJECT

A landmark renewable energy project has moved from ambition to operation at the Kamoa-Kakula Copper Complex in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Mining Services & Supplies (MSS) / Mining Engineering Services (MES) is proud to have served as a construction partner to CrossBoundary Energy, contributing to the on-ground delivery of its large-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility for Kamoa Copper S.A.

The facility brings together:

☀️ 233 MWp Solar PV
🔋 123 MVA / 526 MWh Battery Energy Storage
⚡ 30 MW firm baseload renewable power
⏱️ Commercial operation achieved within 16 months of PPA signing

For MSS/MES, the significance goes beyond the numbers.

Delivering infrastructure of this scale within an operating mining environment demands disciplined construction planning, large-scale mobilisation, interface management, HSEC compliance, quality control and close coordination across multiple stakeholders and work fronts.

That is where our contribution has been — turning engineering plans into operating infrastructure on the ground.

The successful commissioning demonstrates what can be achieved when strong project development is matched by equally strong local ex*****on capability.

We sincerely thank CrossBoundary Energy for the trust placed in MSS/MES as its construction partner, Kamoa Copper S.A. for the collaborative project environment, and all project partners involved in achieving this milestone.

Most importantly, recognition goes to our MSS/MES project, engineering, construction, HSEC, QA/QC and support teams whose commitment on the ground helped bring this project from construction to commercial operation.
