Our September theme is CURRENT. While modern life moves at the breakneck speed of the latest digital refresh, there is another kind of current: the physical pull of a craft that demands patience, touch, and presence.

This month, we are stepping right into that rhythm.

Join us at druckwerk Basel inside Werkraum Warteck pp for an intimate morning talk and hands-on printmaking workshop with acclaimed artist Lucinda Tanner Lucinda Tanner.

Celebrated for her monumental, intricate woodblock prints, Lucinda looks to the print workshop as a restorative antidote to modern screen fatigue. After an introduction to her craft, you will roll up your sleeves on the workshop floor to experiment directly with hand-printing methods, playing with color, typography, layering, and transparency.

Come for the warm coffee and morning bites, stay for the smell of fresh ink.

There is something so special about packing out a room before 8 am with people who just get it. We took over ELEVEN TEN STUDIO ELEVEN TEN STUDIO to talk about the messy, real side of creative pivots, and Aleksandra Cegielska Aleksandra Cegielska didn’t hold back.

Hearing how she ditched a corporate career to build this space from scratch was the exact shot of inspiration we all needed. Add in a tour of the SUPERMARKET exhibition, unreal pastries from Bites Micro Bakery Bites, and non-stop great conversations, and you’ve got the perfect Friday morning.

Ahead of this Friday’s CreativeMornings Basel event, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible space hosting our community. Located within Warteck Werkraum pp, ELEVEN TEN STUDIO ELEVEN TEN STUDIO is an inspiring example of creative resilience and community-building in action.

Founded by visual artist and curator Aleksandra Cegielska Aleksandra Cegielska, the studio has journeyed from a small pop-up exhibition space into a permanent, independent platform dedicated to contemporary art. It functions as a unique hybrid framework, bridging presentation and production by combining an active exhibition gallery with Aleksandra’s personal working studio. This setup not only demystifies the artistic process but intentionally platforms emerging and independent artists through experimental formats and publications that foster a direct dialogue between creators and the public.

ELEVEN TEN STUDIO perfectly mirrors our August theme of NAKHLAH (adapting and staying rooted), demonstrating how flexible, artist-led spaces can truly enrich Basel’s broader cultural ecosystem.
