A testimony that confirms what dozens of human rights organisations have argued for years: the killing of Palestinian civilians has never been collateral damage, but part of a systematic policy.

Some children in Gaza think a ceasefire is just another word for war.

It’s all they’ve known.

Two residential buildings damaged during ’s war on Gaza have partially or completely collapsed in City within three days, killing at least 21 Palestinians and injuring several others, including children.

On Wednesday, the collapse of al-Saada building in western Gaza City killed 21 Palestinians, including 12 children. On Friday, part of another war-damaged residential building in the al-Sabra neighborhood collapsed, trapping five children who were later rescued with minor injuries.

The collapses come as hundreds of thousands of Palestinians continue to shelter in buildings damaged during the genocide, with few safe alternatives.

The danger is compounded by severe restrictions on reconstruction and shelter materials entering Gaza. Israel has restricted the entry of materials it classifies as “dual use,” including timber and construction equipment, citing security concerns.

At the same time, large quantities of timber, emergency shelter kits and other essential supplies remain awaiting approval for entry into Gaza.

Israel has also restricted reconstruction, leaving Palestinians with little choice but to remain in damaged buildings or live in inadequate tents and makeshift shelters.

The lack of safe housing is particularly dangerous as winter approaches. Without access to the materials needed to repair or rebuild homes, Palestinians remain exposed to the risk of further building collapses and increasingly harsh living conditions.

The destruction of Gaza’s homes, therefore, does not end when the bombing stops. Without reconstruction materials and adequate shelter, damaged buildings can continue to kill the people forced to live inside them.
