For the last 20 years, I’ve been chasing David Hockney everywhere — from Los Angeles to Paris, from Yorkshire to Normandy, through Palm Springs, New York, Aix-en-Provence, Lucerne... but why ?

Hockney has taught us how to look. He often said that people do not look enough, and that one of life’s greatest pleasures is simply learning to see. Through his paintings, drawings and photographs, he reveals a world that feels even richer than the one before our eyes — more vibrant, more luminous, more alive.

What makes his work so powerful is that it constantly reminds us of something we too easily forget: how beautiful life is. His art says: “Look. Really look. The world is more beautiful than you think.”

David Hockney makes life so beautiful—what a joy.

We never met, yet you changed my life.

I’ve tried so many times, in so many ways. It almost worked, but then it didn’t. I would have liked to thank you in person. You shaped the way I see life, art, beauty, love, Los Angeles, and even my own story. Especially my own story.

Merci pour toujours.
