The Verzasca Valley in Ticino is famous for its incredibly clear emerald-green river, dramatic rocky landscapes, stone villages, and beautiful Alpine scenery. 🏔️💚

📍 One of the most famous spots is Lavertezzo, home to the beautiful Ponte dei Salti, a historic stone bridge crossing the Verzasca River.

🌊 The river’s clear water and smooth granite rocks make the valley especially popular in summer, although the water can be dangerously cold and river conditions can change quickly.

🏞️ Beyond Lavertezzo, the valley is filled with hiking trails, waterfalls, traditional stone houses, and peaceful mountain scenery.

Saviez-vous que la Suisse produit son propre caviar grâce à l’eau chaude provenant d’un tunnel ferroviaire ? 🇨🇭

À Frutigen, l’entreprise Oona Caviar a transformé les eaux thermales issues du tunnel de base du Lötschberg en un élevage d’esturgeons. Elle produit aujourd’hui entre 2 et 3 tonnes de caviar par an.

Et ce n’est qu’un exemple parmi les nombreuses productions agricoles inattendues que l’on trouve en Suisse. Le pays cultive également des kiwis (dont 80 à 90 % proviennent d’une exploitation biologique près du Léman), des agrumes (avec plus de 270 variétés et la plus grande collection privée d’Europe), du riz (cultivé au nord des Alpes depuis 1997), des patates douces biologiques récoltées à la main dans le canton de Vaud, ainsi que du quinoa produit sans pesticides.🌾

Madagascar🇲🇬 produit aussi du caviar, du riz, des patates douces ou encore des agrumes. Deux pays aux réalités climatiques très différentes, mais aux productions agricoles parfois étonnamment similaires.🍊

Switzerland is famous for its spectacular mountain roads, and some of the country's most unforgettable scenery can be found on its legendary alpine passes. Whether you're planning a road trip or simply love dramatic mountain landscapes, these four passes deserve a place on your bucket list.

🏔️ Furka Pass – One of Switzerland's most iconic mountain roads, Furka Pass climbs to 2,429 meters (7,969 feet) above sea level. It's known for its hairpin bends, panoramic alpine views, and the nearby Rhone Glacier, where visitors can walk inside an ice grotto. Fans of classic movies may also recognize the pass from the James Bond film Goldfinger.

🌄 Maloja Pass – Connecting the Engadin Valley with the Bregaglia Valley, Maloja Pass is famous for its dramatic series of tight hairpin turns. Unlike many alpine passes that climb steadily from both sides, Maloja rises gently from the Engadin before descending dramatically toward the Italian-speaking region of Graubünden, offering breathtaking views along the way.

🚗 Gotthard Pass – For centuries, Gotthard Pass has been one of the most important routes through the Alps, linking northern and southern Switzerland. If you have time, skip the highway tunnel and drive the historic pass road instead. The famous Tremola Road, paved with cobblestones and winding through dozens of curves, offers one of the country's most memorable driving experiences.

⛰️ Simplon Pass – Stretching between the canton of Valais and the Italian border, Simplon Pass reaches 2,005 meters (6,578 feet) and is one of the easiest high mountain passes to drive thanks to its wide, well-maintained road. Along the route, you'll find beautiful alpine scenery, historic landmarks, and the impressive Simplon Eagle, a massive stone sculpture overlooking the pass.

Most Swiss mountain passes are typically open from late spring to autumn, although opening and closing dates vary depending on snowfall and weather conditions. Always check road conditions before your trip, especially if you're visiting early or late in the season.

♦️ 1) PROMENADE DE LA TREILLE.
A l'origine c'était un terrain couvert de vignes, qui s'élèvent contre un mur, un treillage, un arbre :

- DESCRIPTION :
C'est la plus ancienne promenade de la ville puisqu'elle date de 1515. A l'origine, les Crêts-Baudet étaient des terrains irréguliers, en partie incultes, en partie couverts d'arbres, de vignes (d'où le nom de treille) et de taillis.
Ils furent aménagés au milieu du XVIe siècle. On planta alors des noyers et des mûriers qui furent remplacés, en 1706, par les marronniers.
En 1706, on créa la ramper vers le manège et, entre 1711 et 1713, celle vers la porte de Neuve.
"Le plus long banc du monde" date de 1767. A la Restauration. le Café Papon s'établit au sous-sol de la Tour-Baudet et devint un rendez-vous politique.

♦️ 2) LA TOUR BAUDET, SIÈGE DU GOUVERNEMENT :

La Tour Baudet que l'on rencontre en haut de la rampe de la Treille, est l'un des plus anciens monuments de Genève.
Elle abrite notamment la Salle du Conseil d'Etat où siège encore le gouvernement cantonal de nos jours.

Depuis cinq cents ans, l'Hôtel de Ville est le siège de la vie politique genevoise. L'édifice se développe à partir du noyau primitif que forment la salle des Pas-Perdus et la Tour Baudet qui abrite la salle du Conseil d'Etat, ou Gouvernement genevois, héritier de l'ancien "Petit Conseil". Au XVIe siècle, on construit la rampe monumentale, unique en son genre. Puis, la salle du "Conseil des Deux-Cents", ancêtre du Grand Conseil, ou Parlement genevois, est réalisée et le bâtiment prend peu à peu son allure actuelle. Jusqu'au XIXe siècle, il accueille les pouvoirs exécutif, législatif et judiciaire de la République. Et c'est dans les magnifiques salons de cet édifice séculaire que le Gouvernement recevait et reçoit toujours chefs d'Etat, ministres, ambassadeurs et autres invités de marque.

C'est d'ailleurs dans l'un d'eux - la salle de l'Alabama - que fut signée la première Convention de Genève en 1864. Encore aujourd'hui, le Gouvernement siège une fois par semaine dans la Tour Baudet. Au nombre de sept, les conseillers d'Etat se répartissent les départements de l'administration. L'Hôtel de Ville abrite également la Chancellerie d'Etat qui, sous les directives du chancelier, assure le bon fonctionnement du pouvoir exécutif.
