How long does a Glice surface last? 📆
Premium panels are rated for 10+ years per side — and many are reversible, so you flip them for a second life. There's a tier for every use: Home (10mm), Pro 13mm , and Pro 20mm.

Is synthetic ice as slippery as real ice?
We didn't want to be the ones answering that. So we asked Fraunhofer IWM in Freiburg to measure it.
The result: at lower speeds, Glice matches the friction coefficient of freshly resurfaced refrigerated ice. That's the range where most recreational skating and training happens.
It's not "identical in every condition." It's matched where it matters.
For rink operators dealing with energy costs and shorter winters, that's the question that counts: does it skate like ice? Now there's independent data to answer it.

"Close to real ice" is easy to say. So we had it independently measured. 🔬
At the Fraunhofer Institute — Europe's largest applied research organisation — Glice was tested against the best synthetic ice on the market. The result: 52% lower friction than the next-best competitor, the single biggest factor in how effortlessly a blade glides.
Independent, not in-house. That's the difference between claiming performance and proving it.

Running a rink shouldn't need specialists. 🧽
Glice upkeep is a daily clean with one machine during off-hours — no ice plant, no resurfacing water, no Zamboni downtime between sessions. And any staff member can run it: Glice Rink Manager Certification trains an operator in about 45 minutes.
