World Patient Safety Day — 17 September.
This year’s focus: safe care for noncommunicable diseases. Safe care for life.
Long-term treatment only works if the system around the patient is careful — diagnosis, medicines, follow-up, and the people who deliver them.
Respect to healthcare professionals, and to patients who place their trust in them.

Today is World Lymphoma Awareness Day.

Lymphoma is not one disease. Behind the word are many subtypes — some frequent, others rare, and too often diagnosed late.
At Carthagenetics, we are working on a rare lymphoma. That work reminds us of a simple fact: patients with uncommon forms need the same urgency as everyone else, and often get less of it.
A thought for the patients, the families, and the physicians who navigate this path every day.

Today Geneva observes the Jeûne genevois.
The Thursday after the first Sunday of September. The first recorded fast in the city dates back to 1567: a day of humility and solidarity. What remains is simpler — the tarte aux pruneaux, the plum tart once prepared the day before as the only meal allowed.
Geneva has long been part of our company life. A quiet day there still feels like a good reminder to pause.

8 September marks the Diada de Meritxell, honouring the patron of the Principality and recalling the historic Pareatge of 1278 that helped define this small but enduring European state.
Even micro-states have patients living with rare diseases. Access and care matter everywhere.
Carthagenetics is dedicated to rare disease patients — from large countries to the smallest ones.

2026 marks the midpoint of the WHO European Framework on disability-inclusive health (2022–2030). A useful moment to look at what has moved, what has not, and what still needs to be done by 2030.
Many rare diseases lead to lasting disability. Progress on inclusion and health equity therefore matters directly for these patients and their families.
Listening today to WHO/Europe, Member States and people with lived experience.
