Summer is still in full swing… but we're already thinking about winter.

Up at Trübsee this weekend, exploring the area beneath the Titlis Glacier, and it got us thinking about the different ways to enjoy the mountains in winter.

With Alpine Explorers, I'm developing a new range of experiences for corporate teams around Zug and Central Switzerland.

Mountains, food & drink, local experiences, wellness and more.

And no, you don't need to be a skier.

A good day in the Alps doesn’t need to be complicated.

A good walk, great views, a bit of food and good company.

Last week we headed up Pilatus, hiking our way up to Tomlishorn at 2,128m and taking in some pretty incredible views along the way.

This is what we're creating with Alpine Explorers: getting people outside, exploring somewhere new and having a really good day along the way.

Had a super group out on Rigi last week 🚞🧀🥪

Cogwheel train up, a walk along the top through some less known trails, a stop at a little farm for fresh cheese, picnic with a view, gondola down, boat back to Lucerne to finish.

Nothing complicated about the day. That's rather the point.

Lots of discovery, questions and learning about the farms, food, nature and Swiss life along the way.

Everyone's obsessed with Swiss summer. 🌞

But autumn? Golden larch trees, quiet trails, cool crisp air, and mountain restaurants you don't have to queue for. It's become my favourite season, better conversations happen when nobody's rushing or overheating.

Last week we hosted Francis, visiting from the UK: a mix of hiking, biking, a mountain hut, and some of the lesser-known trails around Central Switzerland. No screens, no rush, just good views and conversation.

This is from a group I led on Stoos last Thursday.

Juan had some friends over from the US and he asked me show them the way. We hiked Klingenstock to Fronalpstock, had lunch, and then walked half way back down to grab the mid way gondola. Enroute back we took a dip in a quiet part of Zugersee to cool off!

We've been having some super hot weather recently with temperature of 34 degrees in the valleys, so this route gave a little lofty air and perfect views of the alps and many lakes down below. Plenty of good conversation and laughter.

Day 1: settling in around Zug's Old Town and lakefront
Day 2: summiting Mount Rigi, the "Queen of the Mountains" 🏔️ + a BBQ lunch on the way down
Day 3: chocolate-making, then exploring Lucerne's Chapel Bridge and lakeside promenades
Day 4: e-biking through the forests of Zugerberg, all the way back down into the valley 🚴

The best bits weren't on the schedule. They happened on the walk between stops, over lunch, on the train up the mountain.
