1. Tzy Panchak: The moment he left Blu Nation Recordings, a lot changed. He hasn’t released anything close to the songs he used to drop under Blu Nation. When he performs at shows, he still heavily relies on songs recorded under the label. His separation from the label has cost him a lot. His manager by then was the best and carried his matter on his head . Tzy might have the money but he is no longer who he used to be . He has no big song of recent .

Daphne: Her separation from her label also marked the beginning of her decline, although her marriage may have contributed as well.Daphne was the biggest female artiste in Cameroon when she was under Steven’s music . The moment she left everything changed . We can’t deny the fact that she got married and got busy too .

Gomez: Gomez was a big name under Lion Records. All that changed when he left the label. Now he is on Facebook fighting every body .

Rinyu: Without a doubt, Rinyu is no longer as popular as she was under Akumba Music. She is still able to tour and is trying to stay consistent as an independent artist, which isn’t bad at all, and there’s still hope that she might rise again.She is consistent , doing her best and God Will surely bless her with another hit song .

We have others like Boy Tag , Shura , etc .

Do we have international artists in Cameroon 🇨🇲???

We’ve had international artists like Richard Bona, Manu Dibango, etc., but now it looks like we have no international artists.

When you hear that a Cameroonian artist is having a concert in America, Canada, France, or the UK 🇬🇧, just know that Cameroonians in that country invited them. You’ll rarely see a foreign show promoter inviting a Cameroonian artist because many people do not know our music. For over 10 years now, no Cameroonian artist has truly broken through internationally.

When you hear Kizz Daniel is having a concert in Cameroon, Congo, Ivory Coast, the UK 🇬🇧, America 🇺🇸, or anywhere else, it’s not necessarily Nigerians calling him. It’s show organizers who have seen him trending and decided to invite him. These are the kinds of people you can call international artists. Nigeria has more than 50 international artists as we speak, but it’s sad that we have none here.

But what really makes an artist “international”???????

• Their music is known and consumed by people from different countries, not just their own community abroad.

• Foreign show promoters invite them based on demand, not just diaspora connections.

• They perform at major global festivals and venues alongside other global acts.

• They have charting songs or strong streaming numbers across multiple countries.

• They collaborate with globally recognized artists and producers.

• Their fanbase includes people who are not from their home country.

It’s just our people in America 🇺🇸 or Europe who always invite us 😁💔.

Kocee can do a show in Ivory Coast and have some fans, his song with KS Bloom made waves there. He has also performed in some French-speaking African countries, but outside Africa? We’ll mostly have Cameroonians in attendance.

Even Jovi, when he performs abroad, it’s still mostly Cameroonians. Well, Jovi has headlined a show in Uganda 🇺🇬 at the Nyege Nyege Festival, and that wasn’t a Cameroonian inviting him.Big Respect to him.

Libianca is the only Cameroonian artist of this generation we can truly call international, but sadly she’s facing some challenges now after parting ways with her label.

For over 15 years now, we haven’t had a strong international artist presence. We want our artists to feature in global festivals and have concerts outside Cameroon 🇨🇲, not only shows organized by Cameroonians for Cameroonians.

At some point, we have to admit it’s not easy. The funding needed to break into the global market is significant, and many record labels here don’t have those resources.

Big shoutout to Cameroonians in the diaspora for always supporting and inviting our artists like no one else will 🤦‍♂️💔.
