The Back to School Donation Project carried out by the Asaba ASABA HEALTH FOUNDATION in collaboration with Rigel Trust was successfully carried out yesterday.

We are absolutely thrilled to share the incredible impact of our recent initiative! In a powerful collaboration, Asaba Health Foundation and Rigel Trust have joined forces to deliver essential school books, backpacks, and educational supplies to internally displaced children in Douala, Cameroon! 🇨🇲✨Returning to school can be an immense financial burden for families who have experienced displacement.
By providing these foundational tools, we aren’t just giving away school supplies—we are lifting a heavy weight off parents’ shoulders, restoring hope, and making sure these resilient young learners can step into their classrooms on equal footing.

From eager nursery students to determined secondary school teenagers, these donation packages have reached the hands of children who need them most.

Appreciation Post: Likombe-Buea First Aid Day 💉❤️

Yesterday we wrapped up the first edition of the Asaba health foundation First Aid project in Likombe Village, Buea Subdivision — and my heart is full.

The Mission
At Asaba Health Foundation, our mission is simple: “Know First Aid, Be the Difference Tomorrow.”

Medical emergencies like severe bleeding, burns, choking, snake bites and accidents happen daily in rural communities where hospitals are far.

Likombe Village faces that reality. So we launched this pilot to build local emergency response capacity, right where it’s needed most.

What We Achieved
1. 20 community first responders trained teachers, health centre personnel, quarter heads, bike riders, market women & youth leaders now equipped with life-saving skills in bleeding control, CPR, burns, choking, recovery position & snake bites.
2. 08 community first aid kits donated to strategic locations across Likombe and Bwassa villages.
3. 1,200+ residents reached through practical demonstrations & awareness sessions at Likombe Primary School.
4. A new network created - trainees are now connected via WhatsApp for follow-up, refill guides, and refresher sessions, with Likombe Health Centre supporting sustainability.

Why This Matters
This project showed me one thing: when you put skills and basic tools in the hands of a community, you don’t just save lives - you build resilience. Imagine if every village in Cameroon had 20 trained first responders and accessible first aid kits. Response time drops. Panic reduces. Lives are saved before an ambulance even arrives.

That’s why it’s critical we support more initiatives like this. Rural communities deserve the same chance at survival as urban centers. Investing in grassroots health preparedness is investing in families, in schools, in the future.

From classroom to classroom, the mission was simple: share knowledge that saves lives.🤍

Through the 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐢𝐝 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫 in Buea, we engaged:
• Summerset Bilingual College - over 300 students
• Biaka University Institute of Buea - BUIB - over 300 medical students
• Lycée Molyko - over 1,000 students who filled the gymnasium
• GHS Bokwango - over 600 students gathered in the event hall
• GBHS Muea - over 500 students in attendance

In total, we reached over 𝟮,𝟳𝟬𝟬 young minds with practical First Aid awareness, equipping them with the confidence to respond to emergencies, support others, and act when every second counts.
And we are just getting started 🤗🙌🏼

This is impact. This is responsibility. This is community development.

On Day 3 of our First Aid Awareness Tour, we visited our Alma Mater, GBHS Muea, a beacon of resilience in a community that has faced significant challenges.

Despite being located in a previously designated red zone, the students and staff have demonstrated remarkable determination and zeal for education. We were honored to engage with the students and share knowledge on first aid, acknowledging the institution’s long-standing commitment to fostering outstanding citizens.

Our visit was particularly poignant as we learned about the difficulties faced by the students, particularly in accessing first aid equipment and emergency resources. We commend the principal and staff of GBHS Muea for their dedication to preparing students for emergencies and applaud the students’ eagerness to learn and make a difference.
